I am a full-time author, writing teacher, and dog mom so, I’m living the dream. I have been writing for as long as I can remember. At first, simple picture books bound with yarn came to life on the floor of my living room with a bucket full of crayons and a stack of printer paper. As I got older, the stories grew with me in length and complexity. By the time I was in middle school, I would spend my free time split between reading new books and writing novels of my own.

My first book was “published” when I was in kindergarten. It was a simple assignment but it was one that I took seriously. When the day came to present my finished book and read it out loud to a class full of parents, my normally anxious self was actually excited. That was only the beginning.

When I was in high school, I joined a class all about novel writing. That class is where I learned that writing for a living didn’t just have to be a daydream, it was something that I could actually pursue. I took that class for three years and in that time, I learned a ton and gained so much confidence in myself as a writer. When I graduated high school, I was given the opportunity to intern with the teacher of the novel-writing class and I jumped at the chance. In the couple of years I’ve spent assisting in the class, rather than being a student, I learned that my passion for writing went beyond just my own writing. I love helping teach other young writers and watching them grow and create something that they can be proud of. As of 2020, I have been blessed enough to take over teaching that same class, myself.

My tag line is Consuming Fiction because not only am I a writer, I’m an avid reader as well. I consume fiction just as much as I want to create fiction that consumes readers. For as long as I’ve been writing, I’ve also been reading. Stories, no matter what form I found them in, (mainly in books but also in movies and TV shows) have always been a big part of my life. They’ve been a source of entertainment and at times they’ve been an escape. No matter what role they’ve played in my life they’ve always been a part of it and a part of me.

I write because I know how much other people’s stories have affected me. If the stories I write can do that same thing for even just one other person, why wouldn’t I do it?

Currently, I live in Florida with my dog, Ellie Mae (who makes frequent appearances on my social media) and I’m enjoying teaching as well as working on my future books.
